About Vicki

My Story

I have always been passionate about language, music and human psychology.  Whilst at college I had the opportunity to shadow a family friend that worked as a Speech and Language Therapist.  Following this, I decided to pursue a career in the field.  I was fortunate to be accepted on a unique dual degree course at Manchester Metropolitan University which studied both Speech and Language Pathology and Psychology.

After completing my degree in 2005, I started work in my local NHS trust, Chorley & South Ribble.  I had a varied caseload, mostly working in mainstream schools and community clinics.

In 2009 I was approached by a local school to do some independent work, and in 2010, after being approached by other schools and children's centres in the North West, I decided to leave the NHS and become an independent therapist.

Since then I have worked with hundreds of settings to increase children's speech and language skills through direct intervention, training and helping to create a communication friendly environment.
